Process Art is all about Experimentation and Play

This site is a process more than a destination and we invite you to join us on our journey.

Promoting the Okanagan art experience through process art, which is the idea that the creation, and what you learn, is as important as the final artwork. It's about the journey, in the spirit of experimentation and play.

We feature the processes used by a local artists to help us find our own way as we develop ourselves artistically or to help us to learn how to see art without necessarily having to have an art background.

Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas

Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas works in two and three dimensions in a variety of media living in Kelowna, BC. His disciplines include sculpture, painting, reliefs and medallic art.

Geert Maas was born in The Netherlands, where he attended Academies of Art in The Hague. In 1979, Maas moved to Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with his family. There, he and his wife Elly created the Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens and Gallery which feature one of the largest collections of bronze sculptures in Canada and a diverse selection of his other artwork.

Geert Maas' skillful and inspired use of a wide range of materials marks him as one of Canada's most dynamic and versatile artists. His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and are represented in prestigious public, corporate and private art collections worldwide.

ProcessArt.ca is working with Geert and Elly Maas to bring you their history, stories, art and art processes.
