Internationally acclaimed artist Geert Maas works in two and three dimensions in a variety of media living in Kelowna, BC. His disciplines include sculpture, painting, reliefs and medallic art.
Geert Maas was born in The Netherlands, where he attended Academies of Art in The Hague. In 1979, Maas moved to Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with his family. There, he and his wife Elly created the Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens and Gallery which feature one of the largest collections of bronze sculptures in Canada and a diverse selection of his other artwork.
Geert Maas' skillful and inspired use of a wide range of materials marks him as one of Canada's most dynamic and versatile artists. His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and are represented in prestigious public, corporate and private art collections worldwide.

Goddesses of the Universe is a celebration of life and the female expressing jubilance and inspiration. The spheres in aluminum and copper positioned at different levels symbolize planets. Towering above these spheres are the monumental sculptures of cast bronze with various patinas adorned by stainless steel head decorations sitting atop brushed aluminum pillars of different heights.
The "On the Beach" group sculpture, close to life size, is comprised of five bronze figures with multiple patinas. The base was also designed by Geert Maas for the Waterfront Park location.
This time capsule was created to celebrate the centennial of Kelowna, B.C., Canada. The bronze apple was commissioned by the City of Kelowna and has been placed in the Orchard Park Mall. It holds many historical artifacts
